Salpa Line Hikes

The Salpa Line is the largest construction project in the history of independent Finland. Built in the early 1940s from the Gulf of Finland to the Arctic Ocean, it served as a defense line against the eastern neighbor. The Salpa Line is known for its massive concrete bunkers, stone tank obstacles, and numerous battle trenches that still dot the forests of Southeastern Finland.
